みなさん動画の印象から、「白瀬あかり=怖い人」という印象を持たれているようですが、実際に会うと、「めちゃめちゃ真逆ですよね」とよく言われます(笑)。
TikTok界隈では、”あざとっか〜”の異名でも有名。動画クリエイターとしての活動が高い評価を受け、今や、総SNSフォロワー数が180万人を超えている白瀬あかり。現在は、動画クリエイター活動を軸に据えながら、アパレルや美容・サプリメント事業でのプロデュース、モデルなどのタレント活動も平行して行っている。もともとアイドル活動がベースになっていたこともあって、以前から歌の評価も高かった。
このたび、白瀬あかりが本格的にアーティスト活動を開始した。その先駆けとなるのが、6月24日にCD/配信リリースする1stEP『Flavor』になる。白瀬あかりとは、どんな動画クリエイター/アーティストなのか。その表情にせまってみた。

──あかりさんといえば、総SNSフォロワー数が180万人を超える方。動画クリエイターとして活動を始めてから、もうどれくらいの年月が経ちました？
白瀬あかり ５年以上は経ちました。それ以前はアイドルとして活動をしていましたが、動画クリエイターとしての活動に力を注ぎ出してからは、たまに生誕祭やクリスマスなど記念日の時期にイベントを催してステージに立つ機会は作っても、それ以外でステージに立つことはまったくなかったから、本当に今の活動にすべてを注いでやってきましたし、今もその思いは変わりません。
──”あざとっか～”の異名を取るように、どこかツンデレっぽいキャラクターも魅力的ですよね。
白瀬あかり ありがとうございます。もともとは「あざとい系」のキャラクターに絞って活動をしていました。当時はアイドル活動を卒業したばかりという理由から、見てくださる方々は男性が中心だったので、男性の方々に受けやすいシチュエーションをメインに配信していこうと作り上げたキャラクターでした。ただ、動画クリエイターとして活動を続けていく中、主に美容系などの女性向け商品のインフルエンサー的な活動を求められるようになり、自分でもアパレルやサプリなどのプロデュース活動を行える環境が生まれ、そこを究めていくためにも、もっと女性にも魅力を感じてもらえるコンテンツを作りたい思いに駆られてからは、ちょっと笑ってしまうようなエンタメ系の動画など、女性からの支持も得られるよう、少しずつ方向性をシフトしていきました。それもあって、今では動画の支持層も男女半々にまでなりました。
──女性が「そうそう」となるツボを突いた動画も多いですよね。むしろ、男性側からしたら、ときに痛い心のツボを…。
白瀬あかり 突かれるような(笑)。そういう内容もありますけど、”あざとっか～”と言われるように、あえて”あざとさ”も残しつつ、女の子たちにとって参考になるようなコンテンツ作りを、とくに心がけています。
──ときには、インフルエンサー的な活動もしています。その辺のバランスも考えているのでしょうか？
白瀬あかり バランスはつねに心がけています。嬉しいことに、いろいろと依頼を受けることもありますけど。自分が納得していないものは、お勧めはしていません。それに、商品の紹介ばかりになってしまうと、見る側も嫌になってしまうじゃないですか。だから、そこは月に何本と決めて上手くバランスを取りながら、いつもの”あざとっか～”な動画を楽しんでいただけるように心がけています。
嬉しいのが、商品の紹介をお願いされるときも、「いつもの動画のあかりさんでお願いします」と頼まれることなんです。わたし自身、動画で見せている姿をみんなにも見せたいからこそ、どういう動画でも、あの強気な女性のキャラクターでいろんなことをやっています。
──こうやってお会いをして話をすると感じますけど、普段のあかりさんって、けっして強気な方ではないですよね。むしろ、逆のような…。
白瀬あかり お会いした方にも、「動画の方とはぜんぜん違う」「絶対に怖い人だと思ってた」と、よく言われます。みなさん動画の印象から、「白瀬あかり=怖い人」という印象を持たれているようですが、実際に会った人たちからは、「めちゃめちゃ真逆ですよね」とよく言われます(笑)。むしろ、動画のわたしを求められるからこそ、動画では、逆に素を出せなくなりました(笑)。わたし自身は、いろんなTPOに合わせて、そこに似合う自分を出していけたらと思っているから、それが”白瀬あかりの強み”になっていけているとしたら嬉しいし、わたし自身も強みにしていきたいなと思っています。

──あかりさんは、6月24日に1stEPの『Flavor』をCD/配信リリースし、アーティスト活動を始めます。自分なりに明確なビジョンもありました？
白瀬あかり 動画クリエイターとして活動をしている中、同じ活動をしている他の方々がTikTokで自分の曲を流しているのを見るたびに、「わたしもやりたいな」と思っていました。ただ、アイドル活動時代からずっと応援し続けてきた人たちのことを考えてもそうだし、わたしも、アーティスト活動をやる以上は、ただ楽曲を配信リリースしたり、MVを作ってアップするだけではなく、しっかりと活動のレールを敷きたいと思っていたからこそ、環境が整うまでは、安易に踏み出すことはやめようと思っていました。
やるとなったときも、動画クリエイターとしての自分らしさを生かしたかったので、”強い女性”を描き出した楽曲を中心にしつつ、でも、”ちょっと弱みも見せる”一面など、わたしを応援してくださる人たちのイメージに刺さる世界観を持った曲にしたい意識は強く持っていました。そのほうが、今のわたしを好きになってくれた人たちが、聴いて喜んでくれるんじゃないかなと思って。だから、楽曲の持つイメージもそうだし、歌詞の面でも、作詞家の方と「こういう歌詞を入れてほしい」とやりとりをしながら、白瀬あかりのイメージがぶれないように心がけて制作を進めました。今回は、MVも2本制作しました。こちらも注目を集めそうだから、反響を楽しみにしています。
──『Flavor』では、思いきりセクシーなあかりさんを見せていますからね。強烈だったのが、チョコレートまみれのバスタブに浸かりながら歌っているシーンでした。
白瀬あかり 2本制作した『Flavor』『スクロールして』のMVとも、フルサイズの公開はリリース日になりますけど。『Flavor』の中に登場するチョコレート風呂は、かなりインパクトがありますよね。公開になった際には、ぜひご覧になってください。
あの作品は、「白瀬あかりがチョコレートになっちゃう」ことをテーマに撮りました。あのチョコレートのバスタブに浸かるカットは、深夜の2時頃から最後のシーンとして撮りました。あのシーンの頃にはけっこう疲れてもいましたけど(笑)、わたしのイメージにどんぴしゃのMVができたなと思っています。
──『Flavor』は、強い女性の姿を描き出した楽曲ですよね。
白瀬あかり 今回収録した曲たちの中でも、『Flavor』はとくに注目してほしい楽曲です。わたしに持たれているイメージが”強い女性”としての姿。それに合った歌詞にしていただきました。MVでは、格好いいダンスシーンも見せているから、わたしに対してみなさんが持つイメージにぴったりの楽曲や映像になりました。
──楽曲はもちろん、MVでも、”強い女性”像を出しておきたかったわけですね。
白瀬あかり もともと、ファンの人たちが見ている白瀬あかりのイメージで楽曲を出したいと思っていたから、『Flavor』の曲調も、歌詞も、みなさんが抱いている白瀬あかりの印象と重なる、強い女性の姿を描きました。だからこそ、『Flavor』に出てくる女性とは真逆の姿も見せたくて作ったのが『スクロールして』なんです。
曲調も含め、『Flavor』と『スクロールして』に真逆の白瀬あかりを描き出したからこそ、ファンの人たちに「どっちの白瀬あかりが好きですか？」と選んでほしいなと思っています。わたしが一番喜んでもらいたいのはファンの人たちだからこそ、今後の自分が表現していく色や方向性を決めていくうえで、みんなはどっちの系統が好きなのかを参考にしたいし、決めてほしいんですね。なので、みなさんからの「どっちの曲が好き」という声もお待ちしています。
“わたしは、アンチの人もファンにできると思っています。”
──『Flavor』には、動画クリエイターとして見せるあかりさんの姿が投影されています。『スクロールして』にも、動画クリエイターだからこその視点を描き出していますよね。
白瀬あかり そうなんです。『スクロールして』は、アンチに対する楽曲です。SNS上で活動をしていると、アンチの人も当たり前に出てきます。でもわたしは、アンチの人もファンにできると思っていて。アンチの人だって、ちょっとは気になったから見てくれたわけじゃないですか。歌詞にも書いたように、いろいろと言われるけど。でも、その声さえかわいさでやっつけてファンにしてやる。そういう内容の歌詞だし、あえて曲調も明るくキャッチーにしました。
『スクロールして』のMVにも明るくてキャッチーな面を描きました。こちらは、まさにアイドル風のMV。アイドル時代からファンだった方や、この記事を通してわたしを知ったアイドルファンの方が観たら、きっと喜ぶ内容だと思います。ここには、わたしのアイドル時代の経験も上手く反映しています。
──『Flavor』『スクロールして』のMVでも、真逆な魅力を見せてきましたよね。
白瀬あかり もともとアイドル活動をやっていたからこそ、『スクロールして』のMVのような内容のほうが得意ですけど。動画クリエイターとしてのみなさんが持っているわたしのイメージは『Flavor』のMVに出てくる強い女性だと思います。楽曲としてもそうですが、MVでも、どっちの白瀬あかりが好きなのか、それも教えていただけたら嬉しいです。

──もしや、素のあかりさんに近い内容？

“インストアイベントを通してリアルでお会いできるのは本当に嬉しいし、楽しみにもしています。”
──7月3日には、タワーレコード新宿店でインストアイベントも行います。CDをリリースすることで、リアルイベントを通してあかりさんと直接お会いする機会を得られるのは、ファンの方々にとっても嬉しいでしょうからね。
白瀬あかり これは動画クリエイターとしての活動を始めたからこそ感じてきたことかも知れませんが、アイドル活動をしていたときは、ファンの方々との距離感が近かったぶん、「応援してもらえているな」という感覚をすごく感じていました。もちろん、SNS上で発信していても、コメントなど、いろんな形で応援していただいているのを実感はしますけど。ライブを通した一体感を含め、リアルで触れ合って感じる温度感を体験してきたからこそ、インストアイベントを通してリアルでお会いできるのは本当に嬉しいし、楽しみにもしています。ただ、久しぶりのリアルイベントだから緊張もしていますけど(笑)。こういう直接お会いできる機会は、これからも増やしていきたいから、そこも考えていくつもりです。ファンの方々からも、「リアルで歌を聴きたい」という声もいただいているから、イベントで良いから、ライブの機会も考えていきたいですね。
──今後の展開も楽しみにしています。最後に、ひと言いただいても良いですか。
白瀬あかり 普段はSNS上で活動をしているからこそ、わたしが以前にアイドル活動をしていたことを知らなかった人たちも多ければ、ステージで歌っている姿を観たことのない方も多いのが現状です。だからこそぜひ、インストアイベントという形ですけど、7月3日にタワーレコード新宿店に来て、わたしが歌っている姿を観てほしいなと思っています。わたしがアイドル活動を始めたのも、ステージで歌いたい気持ちが始まりでした。アーティスト活動は、わたしの表現活動の原点となる姿。以前はグループでしたが、今はソロとして。しかも、初めてのソロアーティストとしての活動になるからこそ、この日のイベントを、改めてアーティスト活動の始まりの日にしたいなと思っています。その姿をぜひ、観に来てください。

Based on Akari’s videos, many seem to have the impression that “Akari Shirase = scary person,” but when they actually meet her in person, they often say to her, “You’re the complete opposite!”.
On TikTok, she’s also known by the nickname “Azatokka~※” and has received high praise as a video creator and now boasts over 1.8 million total SNS followers across her SNS accounts. Currently, she focuses on video creation while also producing apparel, beauty, and supplement products as well working as a model and other talent activities. She started her career as an idol, and her singing has always received strong praise.
She has now officially begun her artist career, her first step is to release her 1st EP ‘Flavor’, on CD and digital platforms on June 24. But what kind of video creator and artist is Akari Shirase? Interviewer Nagasawa sat down with her to explore that side of her.

“Since I’m often told “you’re so cutesy”, I intentionally leave a bit of that ‘cutesy’ charm in my content while creating things that girls can learn from and find useful.”
──Akari, you have over 1.8 million total SNS followers. How long have you been active as a video creator?
Akari Shirase: It’s been more than five years. Before that, I was active as an idol. Once I started focusing on video creation, I only appeared on stage occasionally for special events like birthday celebrations or Christmas. So I’ve dedicated everything to my current activities, and that hasn’t changed since then.
──Your somewhat hot-and-cold character that matches the “Azatokka~” nickname is very charming.
Akari Shirase: Thank you. Originally I focused on an “Azatokka-style” character. Because right after graduating from my idol activities, most of my viewers were male, so I created a character built around situations that would appeal to men. But, as I continued as a video creator, I started getting more requests for influencer-style work promoting beauty products aimed at women. I also began producing my own apparel and supplements. So I started to create content that also women would attract, so I gradually shifted towards videos that women also could enjoy and would support me for. Because of this change my audience is now roughly split 50/50 between men and women.
──You have a lot of videos that really resonate with women; videos that make them say, ‘Exactly!’ In fact, from a man’s perspective, they sometimes hit a sore spot and sting a little…
Akari Shirase: Yes, there is that kind of content too (laughs). But as people say “Azatokka~,” I deliberately keep some of that cutesy charm while especially focusing on creating content that girls can use as a reference.
──You also do some influencer-style promotions. How do you maintain the balance?
Akari Shirase: I always pay attention to balance. I’m grateful to receive various offers, but I don’t promote anything I’m not personally convinced by. If all I did was product introductions, viewers would get tired of it. So I set a monthly limit and strike a good balance so people can still enjoy my usual “Azatokka~” videos.
What makes me happy is that when brands ask for promotions, they often say, “Please be the usual Akari from your videos.” Because I want everyone to see the real me that appears in my videos, I always portray that strong, confident female character no matter what the content is.
──Talking to you like this, I can tell you’re not actually a strong-willed or intimidating person at all; in fact, it’s the opposite…
Akari Shirase: People who meet me often say, “You’re completely different from your videos” or “I thought you’d be scary.” It seems many people get the impression “Akari Shirase = scary person” from my videos, but those who’ve actually met me frequently say, “You’re the total opposite!” (laughs).
Precisely because people expect the “video Akari,” I actually find it harder to show my true self in videos (laughs). Personally, I try to adapt myself to different situations and show the side of myself that suits each one. I would be happy if that became “Akari Shirase’s strength”. Which would make me want to continue developing that strength.
“I really wanted to build a solid foundation for my activities. That’s why I decided not to rush into it until the environment was fully ready.”
──You’re releasing your 1st EP ‘Flavor’ on June 24 and marking the start of your artist activities. Did you have a clear personal vision?
Akari Shirase: While I was active as a video creator, every time I saw other people using their own songs on TikTok, I thought, “I want to do that too.” But when I thought about the fans who had supported me since my idol days, and because I wanted to do more than just release songs or upload music videos as an artist, I really wanted to build a solid foundation for my activities. That’s why I decided not to rush into it until the environment was fully ready.
When I finally decided to go for it, I wanted to stay true to myself as a video creator. So I mainly chose songs that show a “strong women,” but I also made sure to include sides where I show “a little weakness.” I really wanted to create songs with a worldview that would touch the hearts of the people who support me. I believed that would make the fans who like the current me the happiest. That’s why, both in the song’s image and in the lyrics, I worked closely with my lyricist. I told them things like “Please include this kind of line,” and made sure the image of “Shirose Akari” didn’t change. This time, I also made two music videos. I think both MV’s will attract lots of attention, so I’m really looking forward to everyone’s reactions.
──In ‘Flavor’ you show a very sexy side of yourself. The most striking scene is you singing while soaking in a bathtub covered in chocolate.
Akari Shirase: Both MVs (“Flavor” and “Scroll Shite”) will have their full versions released on the release date. The chocolate bath scene in “Flavor” is quite impactful, isn’t it?. Please check the full versions when those are released!
The concept was “Akari Shirase turns into chocolate.” That scene of me sinking into the chocolate bathtub was shot as the final scene around 2 a.m. I was pretty tired by then (laughs), but I think it became an MV that perfectly matches my image.
──‘Flavor’ is a song that portrays a strong woman.
Akari Shirase: Among the tracks on this EP, ‘Flavor’ is the one I especially want people to pay attention to. The image people have of me is that of a “strong woman,” so the lyrics were written to match that. The MV also features cool dance scenes, making both the song and visuals perfectly align with the image everyone has of me.
──So, you wanted to present that “strong woman” image not only in the song but also in the music video of ‘flavor”?
Akari Shirase: Yes. I wanted to release music based on the image my fans already have of me, so ‘Flavor’ has a sound and lyrics that depict the strong woman everyone associates with Akari Shirase.
But ‘Scroll Shite’ is the complete opposite, because I wanted to show a side of a woman that’s the complete opposite of the woman in ‘flavor’.
By showing two completely opposite sides of myself in both sound and visuals, I want fans to choose which Akari Shirase they prefer. Because it’s my fans who I want to please the most. So I’d like to receive their feedback to help shape the style and direction I should express in the future. So I’m looking forward to hearing which song everyone likes more.
“I believe I can turn anti-fans into fans too.”
──‘Flavor’ projects the image of Akari that people see as a video creator. ‘Scroll Shite’ also reflects a perspective unique to being a video creator, right?
Akari Shirase: Exactly. ‘Scroll Shite’ is a song about anti-fans. When you’re active on SNS, anti-fans naturally appear. But I believe I can turn anti-fans into fans too. After all, they must have been at least somewhat curious to watch me. As the lyrics say, even if people say all kinds of things, I’ll defeat those voices with cuteness and win them over as fans. I intentionally made the melody bright and catchy too.
The MV for ‘Scroll Shite’ is also bright and catchy; it has a proper idol-style feeling. Fans who supported me during my idol days, or people discovering me through this interview who are idol fans, will probably love it. It incorporates my idol-era experiences well.
──The two MVs show completely opposite sides of your charm.
Akari Shirase: Because I used to be an idol, I’m more comfortable with the style of the ‘Scroll Shite’ MV. But, I think the image most video-creator fans have of me is the strong woman in the ‘Flavor’ MV. Whether in the songs or the MVs, I’d love to hear which version of Akari you prefer.
──‘Tsuyogari no Ibasho’ is a ballad.
Akari Shirase: ‘Tsuyogari no Ibasho’ was made as a heartbreak song. The lyrics will really resonate not just with people who got dumped, but with any girl who tends to act strong no matter what. The song is about someone who holds in all their weaknesses and never tells anyone, even though deep down they really want to open up and share those feelings. I understand this feeling very well. In fact, because people often tell me “You’re such a strong woman,” I feel like I can’t easily show any weakness. This song is where I put those honest feelings from my heart.
──Is this one closer to the real you?
Akari Shirase: Yes, it’s quite close to my true self. Tsuyogari no Ibasho is also the only ballad among the four tracks. Because it’s a song you can really sink into, the empathy level will be high, especially among girls.
──‘Calling U’ also expresses the painful inner feelings of a girl in love, doesn’t it?
Akari Shirase: Musically, ‘Calling U’ has a cool dance vibe similar to ‘Flavor’. Among the four tracks, it has the most stylish sound. But, the lyrics are the most “girlish-like,” with lines like “I just want to hear your voice.” It’s interesting to think that even the strong woman in *Flavor* has the fragile, girlish-like romantic feelings shown in ‘Calling U’. But I believe everyone — regardless of gender — has these kinds of feelings, so I’d be happy if listeners can relate.

──On July 3 you’ll hold an in-store event at Tower Records Shinjuku. Releasing a CD means fans can meet you in person — that must be great for them too.
Akari Shirase: This might be something I’ve come to feel precisely because I started as a video creator, but when I was doing idol activities, the distance with fans was so close that I strongly felt the sense of “I’m really being supported.” Of course, even when I post on SNS, I do feel the support through comments and various other forms. But because I’ve experienced that real, tangible warmth and the sense of unity you get through live performances, I’m truly happy and excited to be able to meet my fans in person through these in-store events. That said, since it’s been a while since my last real-life event, I’m also feeling nervous (lol). I want to create more opportunities like this to meet my fans directly in the future, so I’ll be thinking about that as well. I’ve also been hearing from fans who say they “I want to hear you sing live,” so I’d like to consider live performance opportunities too, even if it’s just an event.
──I’m looking forward to your future activities. Finally, could you share a final message?
Akari Shirase: Because I mainly am active on SNS, there are many fans who don’t know that I used to be an idol, and many who haven’t seen me sing on stage. That’s why I really want you to come to Tower Records Shinjuku on July 3rd for an in-store event and see me sing. My idol activities started because I wanted to sing on stage and those activities are the origin of my expression. I used to be in a group, but now I’m a solo artist. Moreover, because this will be my first solo artist activity, I want to make this event a day to mark the beginning of my artist activities once again. Please come and see me perform.
The reason I can stand on stage again is because I seriously devoted myself as a video creator. That’s why I want to properly show the singing side of Akari Shirase to everyone who got to know and like me as a video creator. Of course, I will continue to focus on my activities on video creation while also pursuing artist activities as one form of expression. So I would appreciate your continued support.
